TKUK [ Traction Kites UK ] was founded in October 1999 by two guys heavily into kiting and extreme sports. They originally found a gap in the market for second hand kiting equipment. They were both well known on the racing scene and with plenty of contacts and knowledge the first TKUK web site was created.

Once the web site was launched things took off big time (excuse the pun) it was made clear that the introduction for new equipment was needed to keep up with the demand. In 2002 I joined the company and managed a retail outlet for the guys, that specialised in kites and accessories.

I have been kiting for 5 years and am passionate about the sport. In February 2003 the guys decided to move on to pastures new, so I took over the company and am dedicated to seeing the company grow.

Come and visit our kite shop located in Southsea Skatepark or our NEW shop at the Paracadamy in Portland, Dorset; where our staff provide a friendly and professional service. Our priority is to give the right advice and training so you walk away with the right equipment to suit your abilities.

We will not sell an item if we feel that the customer needs a little more experience as we are very aware of the dangers if the wrong equipment is supplied to an inexperienced flyer.
