Introduction:
Ozone is one of the biggest names in kiting. Their products are well known for their excellent build quality, and the Yakuza is no exception. Many years of research and development have gone in to this kite and it shows.
Packaging, Style & Construction:
Even the bag has been redesigned. A good size bag, of good quality. I would have preferred a rucksack type bag rather than the single strap they have implemented on this bag.
The overall construction of the kite is of a very high standard, and will not disappoint! As I mention above, this is supplied kite only, and it is intended that the user spend sometime tuning their lines to their personal preferences. Your current handle and lines should be sufficient, but may need tweaking.
Intended Use:
I believe this kite is intended to be a replacement to the very successful Razor. These kites are aimed at the serious buggier, and is currently proving itself on the buggy race circuit.
This is no surprise if you consider the amount of time the Ozone team spent on this kite. The process of developing a high aspect ratio kite is an involved one, as a race kite it needs to work in an amazing variety of conditions.
There is no reason why this kite could not be used with a land board (ATB), however the user should have their eye on the kite at all times, it is super quick and generates loads of power. It is not intended for jumping, but in the right hands you would be able to get some nice jumps with this kite. I’m sure Ozone did not intend it for this use though.
Final Summary:
Overall though, I was very impressed with this kite. If you want to be the fastest in your buggy or feel the need to have the most powerful kite possible in your quiver then the Yakuza is the kite for you!
